Englische Märchen fangen mit dem Ausdruck “Once upon a time there was …” an.
Sie enden anders als bei uns. Dort heißt es am Schluss normalerweise:
“And they lived happily ever after.”

    —————————————————————————–

Once upon a time there was a girl.
Her name was Mary and she was 28 years old.
She lived in London and worked as an English teacher.
    She was very intelligent.
    Really, she knew everything.

Every day, when she came home, she took a bath.
Her days were very exhausting because her pupils were very challenging.
After the bath she drank her good-night sleep-tight tea,
opened the window and went to bed.
She loved that. She enjoyed it when the wind blew into her face.

But what was that one night???

    There was a green light!
    Three aliens arrived.
They sucked all her knowledge and all her memories out of Mary.
The aliens wanted to be as intelligent as Mary.

Now Mary didn’t have any memory.
    She didn’t know her name.
    She forgot everything.

Her family to her to a hospital for dementia.
In the hospital a nurse looked after Mary.
But she could not get her memory back.

One day her hospital group went on a trip.
They visited a lot of interesting places.
The group stopped for a break in a cafe.

For a long time, Mary sat at a table next to the door and drank some tea.
She didn’t notice that her group forgot her.

She felt wonderful. She was left alone.
She looked out of the window and observed the other people, adults and children.

Now each time when somebody came into the cafe
she asked him if he knew who she was.
    But nowbody could help her.

And if she hasn’t died then she must still be sitting there.
